Part one of the series neatly left off when Goku and Vegeta were about to begin their first battle. We don't quite have a Dragon Ball for every single taste – no matter what, you have to enjoy watching pointy-headed superheroes beat each other up – but still, the franchise finds some broader appeal this way. There's an argument to be made for both versions, so it's nice to see that Funimation has gone to the trouble to make them both available here in America. On the other hand, if you just haven't got that much spare time, there's also Dragon Ball Kai, which neatly trims the series down into something you don't have to devote your life to. If you want the original, traditional, classic, totally un-altered version of the series, there's the hefty Dragon Box releases containing Dragon Ball Z as it was originally broadcast.
